Introduction
My role as an Early Childhood Doula,
as a parent support for you, centers on two parts.
When I place my attention on the child's growth and development,
I am focusing on the child's needs.
When I hold the space for the parent's individual growth and development,
I am focusing on the parent's needs.
These two areas of focus are not mutually exclusive.
More often than not, the needs of these two areas are often combined
and addressed together.
However, I have come to realize that when I do not address these two areas as two separate points of reflection, quite often, the child's needs come to the forefront such that the parent's individual needs fall through the cracks or are at best,
placed on the back burner.
It is with this awareness in mind -
that the parent's individual growth and development
is equally important as the child's growth and development -
that I offer my services to you.

Perception is a subjective experience. We are only able to perceive a situation with the world view that we hold. This world view is shaped by our knowledge, our experiences and our beliefs.
By sharing with you my knowledge, experiences and insights from my work with children and families, I hope to expand your perspective as you observe your child grow, and to give you a broader base upon which you are able to reflect your experiences as a parent to young children.

There are always reasons behind each situational interaction the child has with the environment. I hope to expand your understanding of where the child may possibly be coming from - to walk in the child's shoes for a bit, and to see the world from the child's perception.
